INDUSTRY OUTLOOK: I believe we are going to see an increase in claims that had regressed due to COVID-19. As society slowly and safely returns to normal, we are going to see an increase in general liability and third-party insurance defense claims.
GOALS FOR NEW POSITION: My single goal is to grow Kelley Kronenbergs general liability and third-party insurance defense practice. We can achieve this by providing superb work product, excellent client service, and streamlining processes and procedures so we provide the same experience across offices.
CHALLENGES FACING THE INDUSTRY: The primary challenge we face is finding mechanisms to combat extortion through litigation. Insurers and their insureds are all too often the victims of personal injury lawyers bringing highly questionable lawsuits because they know said lawsuits will be cheaper to settle than to take to trial. We have to utilize all mechanisms in our arsenal to smartly apply pressure back on such attorneys.
FIRST EXPERIENCE IN THE INDUSTRY JOB MARKET: I worked for a regional insurance defense firm in New York. Litigating in New York was challenging, but it provided me a great skillset. What I didnt have in New York was a focus on clients, a focus on my colleagues, and a determination to be a leader. During my time at Kelley Kronenberg, I have been able to slowly hone my non-litigation skills and become a well-rounded attorney.
ADVICE: Find a mentor who will allow you to litigate.
OUTSIDE THE INDUSTRY, A DREAM JOB: Ambassador for the Florida Gator football team. Is that a job?
