INDUSTRY OUTLOOK: Im excited for the ways the insurance industry is leveraging technology to improve processes, provide new product offerings and lower overall risk and expenses.
GOALS FOR NEW POSITION: Im looking forward to bringing comprehensive actuarial solutions to our insurance clients by providing expert consulting with efficient technology solutions.
CHALLENGES FACING THE INDUSTRY: Some still see actuaries as interchangeable, but actuarial services are not a commodity. You do get what you pay for.
FIRST EXPERIENCE IN THE INDUSTRY JOB MARKET: My first actuarial job out of college was doing pension consulting at Towers Perrin and now Im back at Willis Towers Watson doing property/casualty consulting.
ADVICE: Any actuarial student should prioritize passing all exams as quickly as possible.
OUTSIDE THE INDUSTRY, A DREAM JOB: If I werent a consulting actuary, Id be a reconstructive facial plastic surgeon another good blend of art and science.
COLLEGE MAJOR: B.A. in statistics from Northwestern
LOOKING FORWARD TO: I joined this practice at Willis Towers Watson specifically to rejoin a team with extremely talented actuaries whom Id had the pleasure of working with earlier in my career.
FAVOURITE MEAL: I love Indian food.
BOOK: I most recently read Behind Her Eyes (before watching it on Netflix).
HOBBIES: We were lucky enough to move from a small downtown Chicago condo to a spacious suburban house before the lockdown. Setting up the house and decorating has kept me busy over the winter. This spring and summer, were looking forward to hiking now that its warming up, and well visit Yellowstone in August.

ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON: Im typically trying to ameliorate my working-mom guilt by letting my 5- and 7-year-olds dictate our day.
