INDUSTRY OUTLOOK: I think that M&A, technology and data science will continue to shape our industry for the coming years. Also, climate-related risks are certainly one of the biggest challenges of our time that the industry will have to face and tackle sooner than later.
GOALS FOR NEW POSITION: It is quite simple. I really want to help insurers and other clients to create value for their organization.
CHALLENGES FACING THE INDUSTRY: As mentioned above, and like many other industries, climate change is certainly the most important one, in my opinion, that comes to mind. It is a global issue, both from an industry sector and geographical perspective, so quite hard to diversify. Thus, we will need to collectively find effective mitigating actions.
FIRST EXPERIENCE IN THE INDUSTRY JOB MARKET: I started out as a corporate actuarial analyst at Intact Financial Corp. in 2006.
ADVICE: Be curious and do not hesitate to get out of your comfort zone. There are so many different aspects of the industry to learn from out there.
OUTSIDE THE INDUSTRY, A DREAM JOB: In another life, I guess I would have liked to be a chef or a winemaker.
COLLEGE MAJOR: Mathematics, actuarial option.
LOOKING FORWARD TO: Collaborate with new colleagues and leverage on WTWs vast expertise worldwide.
FAVOURITE MEAL: I love risotto with a glass of good wine.
BOOK: I really enjoyed the Millennium series translated from Swedish, ideally. Reading #6 (the very last) is still on my to-do list, though.
HOBBIES: Sports are just so good for my well-being. The pandemic prevented me from practicing my favorite one (ice hockey), but I discovered trail running and hiking since then.
TV SHOW: I dont watch much TV, but Hockey Night in Canada is definitely a classic, especially during Stanley Cup playoffs.
ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON: Being a father of young twins, I am really enjoying having a rest during my kids nap.
