INDUSTRY OUTLOOK: While 2020 started with much uncertainty for the industry in light of COVID-19, the insurance industry bounced back in 2021 and I think we will continue to see a trend of positive growth.
GOALS FOR NEW POSITION: My goal is to act nimbly on any relevant legal and compliance issues to support Canopius numerous growth initiatives in the U.S.
CHALLENGES FACING THE INDUSTRY: Navigating the rapidly changing political landscape in Europe and the U.S. and staying ahead of any regulatory and compliance issues that arise from these events.
FIRST EXPERIENCE IN THE INDUSTRY JOB MARKET: I began my career as a litigator at Sidley Austin LLP in their insurance practice group where I litigated reinsurance disputes, provided regulatory advice and was involved in insurance M&A transactions.
ADVICE: Dont be afraid to ask a lot of questions and find a mentor who can guide you and serve as a sounding board. I dont think this advice is limited to newcomers, however, as I believe you should always remain inquisitive and mentors are necessary at all stages in your career.
OUTSIDE THE INDUSTRY, A DREAM JOB: I would love to work with rescue animals in some capacity. All of my animals have been rescues.

LOOKING FORWARD TO: From a legal standpoint, I look forward to utilizing my expertise to find business-oriented solutions for Canopius. From a personal standpoint, I look forward to being part of a company that has made inclusivity and diversity a top priority.

HOBBIES: Running, biking and reading mystery/thriller novels.
