INDUSTRY OUTLOOK: I think the outlook is good for the industry. There are a number of changes in the way the business is transacted and managed, but overall it is in a strong position.
GOALS FOR NEW POSITION: I hope to work with the ReAlign team to provide innovative and efficient insurance products to our broker partners and provide exceptional opportunities and returns for our capital partners. We are working on aligning an existing carrier with best-in-class program administrators.
CHALLENGES FACING THE INDUSTRY: As the industry becomes more technologically advanced, we need to prepare the current workforce for those changes and attract new talent into the industry. In addition, we need to continue to innovate from a product perspective, as well as operationally, in order to keep up with consumer expectations.
FIRST EXPERIENCE IN THE INDUSTRY JOB MARKET: I was an attorney for the professional liability underwriting team at American International Group Inc. in the mid-1990s.
ADVICE: Challenge yourself to learn a new product each month. Ask questions, as a lot of our industry is about experience rather than what is written down. Be open to new opportunities.
OUTSIDE THE INDUSTRY, A DREAM JOB: Professional golfer

LOOKING FORWARD TO: Working with the team at ReAlign. They all bring great experience and skillsets to the table. Being able to build a business from a well-established base. Helping establish new distribution platforms and products.
