6.6-magnitude quake hits Chilean island territory

The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre said that a 6.6-magnitude earthquake struck Easter Island near Chile on July 12, Yahoo reported citing Reuters. Chile's National Emergency Office said the quake did not trigger tsunami-like conditions around the Chilean coasts and there were no reports of damage yet.
