A shortage of carbon dioxide (CO2) could force Denmark-based brewer Carlsberg’s subsidiary Carlsberg Polska to reduce or suspend production of beer in Poland, Reuters reported. Chemical companies in Poland, including Grupa Azoty SA that produce CO2 as a byproduct, have suspended production due to soaring gas prices, thereby disrupting the supply of CO2, which is used by many food and beverage companies.
