East Coast floods cause insured loss of over $3.6 billion

 

 

 

 

 

The Insurance Council of Australia said that the East Coast floods in February and March caused an estimated $5.28 billion Australian ($3.65 billion) in insured losses, Reinsurance News reported. The floods, which ravaged South-East Queensland and northern New South Wales, resulted in more than 233,000 claims, with an average claim value of AUD22,000.
