Food delivering firm fined $79 million for misclassifying workers

Spain has fined Spanish on-demand courier service provider Glovo around €79 million ($79 million) for misclassifying some workers as independent contractors, Euronews reported citing AP and AFP. The company has been accused of misclassifying over 10,000 workers as self-employed instead of making them staff employees under a 2021 law.
