A forest fire that started on June 28 in the Andean mountains of Peru is threatening the historical Incan ruins of Machu Picchu, Reuters reported. The fire had already burned around 20 hectares of land as of June 29 and is nearing the monument while the remoteness of the location impedes firefighting operations.
