Hyundai Steel workers threaten strike, raising supply chain concerns

Workers at South Korea’s second-largest steelmaking company Hyundai Steel Co. Ltd. have threatened to strike over wages, raising concerns of steel supply chain disruptions that could have a wider impact on industries such as automotive, shipbuilding and construction, The Investor reported. The industrial action threat comes at a time when production at a factory of South Korea’s largest steelmaker, Posco Holdings Inc. has already stalled after sustaining damage from the recent typhoon Hinnamnor.
