Indian state suffers over $450 million damage from rains

Indian state of Karnataka has suffered an estimated 36 billion Indian rupees ($452 million) in infrastructure, home and crop damage during this year’s monsoon season, Hindustan Times reported citing PTI. The state’s chief minister, Basavaraj Bommai, said that the rains destroyed over 1 million hectares of agricultural land.
