Lebanon-based reinsurer Arab Reinsurance Co. SAL reported an underwriting profit for the first time in eight years in 2021 after years of underwriting losses and marginal operating performance, Middle East Insurance Review reported. U.S.-based A.M. Best Co. Inc. has maintained a “Negative” outlook for the reinsurer due to the political uncertainty and heightened financial and economic risks in Lebanon.
