Food and beverage industry associations have raised concerns over potential shortage of carbon dioxide (CO2) gas and the impact on their businesses, as one of the U.K.’s largest CO2 gas suppliers – CF Fertilisers UK – intends to suspend production due to soaring natural gas prices, The Guardian reported. CF Fertilisers, a subsidiary of U.S.-based CF Industries Holdings Inc., accounts for nearly a third of the U.K.’s CO2 gas supplies.
