According to U.S.-based Goldman Sachs Group Inc., all four large European reinsurers – Munich Reinsurance Co., Swiss Reinsurance Co. Ltd., Hannover Re SE and Scor Se – have underperformed the market so far this year, Reinsurance News reported. High inflation, higher weather losses, COVID-19 losses and potential damage from the Russia-Ukraine war are cited as the reasons for the reinsurers’ underperformance.
