CLEVELAND—Kent Clapp, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Medical Mutual of Ohio, died in a plane crash last week while returning home from a vacation in the Caribbean.
Reports say that Mr. Clapp and his fiancée, Tracy Turner, died in the crash Wednesday, when the small twin-engine plane they were on crashed into a mountain approximately 13 miles east of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Mr. Clapp, who joined Cleveland-based Medical Mutual of Ohio in 1976, had held his current position since 1997. Charles A. Bryan, a retired Nationwide Insurance Co. executive, was named acting CEO of Medical Mutual of Ohio.
