Mexico asked to inspect labor rights violations at Stellantis plant

Employment liability

The U.S. has asked Mexico to probe alleged worker rights violations at Teksid Hierro de Mexico auto-parts plant owned by Netherlands-based carmaker Stellantis N.V., Reuters reported. Workers at the Coahuila-based plant say the company has blocked them from being represented by the group of their choice, the Miners Union and that it dismissed workers who backed the group. Under the 2020 U.S.-Mexico-Canada agreement, factories that violate worker rights could lose their tariff-free status.
