Ongoing strike at paper mill creates pressure on label supply chain

Strike

European self-adhesive label industry association Finat has warned of Nordic paper shortages due to the ongoing strikes at Finnish pulp producer UPM-Kymmene Oyj since Jan. 1 and the resulting pressure on the label supply chain, Printweek reported. The Finnish Paperworkers’ Union is on strike at UPM’s Finland-based units, and was recently joined by the Finnish Transport Workers’ Union AKT, which has further aggravated the paper supply issues.
