An aerospace parts foundry willfully exposed workers to numerous safety and health violations, drawing penalties of $303,106 from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the agency announced last week.
Engineered Precision Casting Co., a steel and aluminum foundry in Middletown, New Jersey, was cited for 14 violations that included failure to provide employees with personal protective equipment, a lack of training on the use of chemicals, the absence of an inspection program for overhead cranes and other issues.
OSHA said on Sept. 9 that Engineered Precision Casting has 15 days from receipt of the citations to comply or contest the findings.
