Premiums in CIS region drop 6% mainly due to Russia

The aggregate gross written premium of insurers in the Commonwealth of Independent States dropped by more than 6% year-on-year to nearly €6 billion ($6 billion) in the first quarter of the year, primarily due to a decline in the region’s leading insurance market – Russia, Xprimm reported. The highest increase in premiums was seen in Kyrgyzstan, while Kazakhstan market showed the least growth.
