Holdcroft Motor Group, one of the largest family-run car dealerships in the U.K., lost two years’ worth of data, including staff information, in a recent ransomware attack that targeted the company’s IT system in July, Infosecurity Magazine reported citing StokeonTrentLive. The hackers attacked Holdcroft Motor on July 28, causing significant damage to some of the company's core systems.
